TRANSFER AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

ESSAY WRITING AND FINANCIAL AID COACHING
Morzep college coaches will guide you along your entire transfer process. Our transfer package includes much more than finding the best transfer college or university for you and helping you fill in the application forms. We will also identify your academic assets and skills that make you the right candidate for certain colleges and help you write a compelling application essay and personal statement.
Regardless if you want to transfer to a liberal arts college or an Ivy League university, you need to remember that, as a transfer student, the college admissions officers will focus less on your school transcripts and standardized test results and more on your college coursework and achievements up until the moment when you apply. Colleges and universities usually require college credits accumulated during year one and/or year two (between eight and sixteen classes) to consider your transfer application.
Moreover, for the transfer application file to be complete, you will also need two letters of recommendation from college instructors, as well as a clear professional plan that will highlight the role the institution of your choice will play in it.
If you need financial aid, our counselors who focus on college transfers will gather the necessary information regarding the scholarships and financial aid provided by each institution. Transfer applicants benefit from the same financial aid as everybody else, and we will help you understand the terms and fill out the required forms for the application process.

Frequently Asked Questions
College transfer advising is all about helping college students who realize that their current school isn’t the right fit. Whether you’re coming from a community college or a four-year university, our transfer advisors work closely with you to guide you through the transfer process, from start to finish. We provide individual advising appointments to assess your academic background, review your college credits, and identify undergraduate admissions opportunities that align with your goals. Great question — we get this one a lot! Students may need several key pieces to complete a transfer application, including:
- A strong college application and personal essay (we’ll help you write it!)
- College credits from previous coursework
- Two letters of recommendation from college instructors
- A clear professional plan explaining how the new school will help you achieve your goals
- Unofficial transcripts from your current school (for initial review)
- Financial aid forms, if paying for college is part of your plan — and yes, we’ll help with that too!
Most students currently in college need between 8 and 16 classes (college credits) to be eligible for transfer — typically achieved during your first or second year. Every school is different, though, and our transfer advisors will help you review each school’s undergraduate admissions criteria to ensure you meet their transfer eligibility. If you’re unsure how many credits you have or need, email us today to set up a session — we’ll help you figure it out!
